Hi Giulia, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?
Hello! Thank you for interviewing me. I’ve been well!
Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Addictable”?
Yes, my latest single ‘Addictable’ talks about not caring what people think and letting yourself go. In this case I’ve represented the song and what I wanted to say, or better, the image I wanted to leave to the public…all in a night out! In this case, by myself, enjoying the night and feeling good about myself. Not caring about what other people think and living your life.
Did any event in particular inspired you to write this song?
Not any special event in particular, just how I like to live life.
How was the film experience?
The filming experience was good fun, INTENSE but good fun. I love to film videos, it’s another big passion of mine. We basically had to film it in one day, so it was a long night!
The single comes off your new album Raze me to the Ground – what’s the story behind the title?
Well, not being too confident about it, but I really think it’s a great album and that it can RAZE to the ground a lot of competition! (LOL) Also, because there is a song named like that in the album…
How was the recording and writing process?
It’s always a great process. I love the making of an album, it’s so creative and therapeutic. I always talk about my personal experiences, it’s very important to me.
What was it like to work with Don Mescall and how did that relationship develop?
It’s always a great pleasure, we get along very well and we think a lot alike. We met one day at a studio, another great producer that I work with (Tom Nichols) introduced us and we have collaborated since then.
How much did he get to influence the album?
Well, a lot I would say. I came into the studio with something in mind or what I wanted to say in a certain song and he worked a lot on the music.
What role did Nashville play on this album?
I think a big one. I was born as a country singer and who better to help me during this process. We created a great sound together.
How much does Fashion influence your music and the other way around?
Fashion doesn’t influence my music and vice versa. My state of mind influences my music and my state of mind mixed with my mood that day creates my style.
What aspects of your life and hope did you get to explore with this album?
Well, all of my hope and my life. My album is my life.
Any plans to hit the road?
Yes, this winter I will hit the road and play at concerts in the UK as I did in Italy. I hope I can always do more…who knows! Lol.
What else is happening next in Giulia’s world?
I hope my second album goes well and I continue to do what I love.
