Spring King says about the BBC tour, “We’re incredibly grateful that the BBC has asked us to do this tour in America. We’ve always been overwhelmed by the support they’ve given us in the past, but this is on another level! We can’t wait to get out there. It’ll be the perfect end to a perfect year for us”
The band recently unveiled a highly entertaining video for their single “Detroit“
After a meteoric rise in their home country, Britain’s most energetic and refreshing young rock band Spring King announced the US release of their debut album Tell Me If You Like To – out now on Terrible Records. The band, whose star has been rising at a rapid rate of knots ever since Zane Lowe chose them as the very first track to be played on Beats 1. Formed in the Northern English city of Manchester – known around the globe for its impressive musical offspring – Spring King came quick, hard and fast. The band recorded their debut between the now infamous bathroom studio of Tarek Musa and Chapel Studios in rural Lincolnshire before swiftly signing a deal with Island Records. With no desire to relinquish control Tell Me If You Like To was recorded and produced by the band’s talisman, songwriter, lead vocalist and drummer, Tarek Musa. The result is the finest rock debut of the year. It flips dark lyrical content with an uplifting and high tempo; being chaotic, yet bold, defined and driving to the end. The band and album possess a raw energy that tears its way through garage sensibilities, whilst combining pop felt melodies and leaving everything in its wake. They were one of the break out bands of this year’s SXSW Festival in Austin, TX and at home they’ve toured with musician compadres FIDLAR, Wolf Alice, Slaves and Courtney Barnett.
