Hey! Thank you so much! I’ve been amazing; keeping myself busy!
Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Survivor”?
Sure! Survivor is a really fun, catchy pop song about realizing how incredible it feels to choose to embrace being strong, ambitious and confident.
Did any event in particular inspired you to write this song?
Honestly, I wrote it because I was talking to my parents one day and my step-mom asked me why I was only writing songs about heartbreak or love lost when I’m such an independent, strong woman. So I decided that it was time for me to write a song that not only spoke to those traits that I love about myself but one that would hopefully inspire women, and young girls, to the proud and unapologetic about their power.
Any plans to release a video for the single?
I actually have a video released for the single already! It’s up on YouTube!
Why naming the album after this track in particular?
This track sort of became my personal anthem and I couldn’t imagine a better name for the EP!
How was the recording and writing process?
The process was absolutely incredible. I worked with an amazing producer in Nashville for almost a year before I flew down to record with him. We spent countless hours writing over skype, figuring out what sound we were aiming for and how to get there. It was a huge learning curve for me! Recording in Nashville was an unbelievable dream come true. I mean, we cut instrumentals at Sony Tree Studios on Music Row! It was also my first time in a studio so my 6-year-old self could not believe I had finally made it into one, not just to record, but to record music that I helped create.
What role does Nashville plays in your music?
Music City is an unreal place to be as a musician; it is absolutely overflowing with incredible writers and performers and I was in awe of the sheer amount of talent pouring out of the city. It truly helped foster me as an artist and Nashville will always hold a place in my heart.
What aspects of your life did you get to explore on this album?
I really got to deal with the emotional aftermath of a broken heart. If you look at the album from bottom to top it’s about feeling that heartbreak, in Broken Heart Breaking, starting to move on in You Know Where to Find Me and finally standing on your own two feet ready to conquer the world in Survivor.
Any plans to hit the road?
I’ve been playing lot of shows in New York and Philadelphia but I’m sure you can expect to see more of me!
What else is happening next in Kat Pace’s world?
I recently started working on a full length album! I’m in the studio working on it now and am so excited to show off a new sound and a new story! You can keep an eye on my social media and my website to find out more!
