As a teen, Marit’s good friend gave her Joni’s albums (Blue, Court and Spark, Ladies of the Canyon) and she was never the same again. Through the natural rollercoaster of life, they have been the soundtracks of her journey. To Marit, Joni’s lyrics unfolded like the advice of an older sister, trying to guide her down the right path. With Joni’s help, however, Marit learned that we all continue to make our own decisions, and have to learn the tough lessons ourselves. Come to find out, in the end, Joni was right.

Marit Larsen is originally from Oslo, Norway and has been involved in music ever since she can remember. At a young age, Larsen took youth culture by storm as one half of the pop duo, M2M. Their debut single, “Don’t Say You Love Me” was a global success. As Larsen grew older she decided to become a solo artist, and has gone on to have an incredibly successful career. When The Morning Comes, received rave reviews when it was released in Norway, and earned her two nominations for the Norwegian Grammy, ‘Spellemansprisen,’ in the categories Best Lyricist and Best Composer. “I Don’t Want to Talk About It” has been praised by Perez Hilton saying, ”The Norwegian singer has just released one of the best songs of her career!!!”
