Downtown/Atlantic recording group Miike Snow have released a striking music video in support of their latest single, “My Trigger.” The clip serves as a creative partner to Miike Snow’s breakthrough single/video, “Genghis Khan,” once again directed by Pulse Films’ Ninian Doff (Migos, Royal Blood, The Chemical Brothers, Run The Jewels) and co-starring actors Adam Jones and Edward Hayes Neary. “My Trigger” is available now via Miike Snow’s YouTube and Tumblr page.
The track – one of many highlights found on Miike Snow’s acclaimed third studio album, iii – is currently impacting Alternative radio outlets nationwide; “My Trigger” is available now at all DSPs and streaming services.
“Genghis Khan” – the previous single from iii – has proven a critical success and a top 5 favorite at Alternative outlets nationwide. The track’s ingenious companion video has now drawn more than 10 million individual YouTube views thus far. In addition, “Genghis Khan” has just been honored with Britain’s D&AD Awards in the categories of “Direction For Music Videos” and “Choreography For Music Videos,” following up on a recent “Best Performer” triumph at the Berlin Music Video Awards.
Perhaps more significant has been the unique popularity “Genghis Khan” has received on Tumblr. The clip’s deconstruction and reinvention of traditional spy movie gender roles led to the seemingly spontaneous creation of countless memes and fan art, prompting The Daily Dot to note how the video “has spawned the first viral microfandom of 2016.”
Miike Snow – who are just wrapping up a popular North American summer headline tour – will hit the road again in September for some of their biggest US dates yet, including a much anticipated show at New York City’s famed Radio City Music Hall on Wednesday, September 28th (see attached itinerary). The schedule also includes a string of late summer/fall festivals, including Philadelphia, PA’s Radio 104.5 Summer Block Party (Sunday, September 18th) and Austin, TX’s AustinCity Limits Music Festival (Sunday, October 2nd and Sunday, October 9th), not to mention a very special headline set at San Diego, CA’sCRSSD Festival (Saturday, October 1st).
