Today, K.Flay releases a brand-new EP, Crush Me, via Night Street/ Interscope/Universal Music Canada. Available for digital download and streaming, this is the first release from Imagine Dragons’ front-man Dan Reynolds’ newly minted label – Night Street Records.
An alternative artist and producer with hip-hop influences, K.Flay’s Crush Me EP showcases her fearlessly honest songwriting and includes her new single “Blood In The Cut.” “The song is about the desire to inundate yourself with pain or angst or noise or joy, or really any experience, in order to have ownership of the feeling,” says K.Flay. “Though it emerged from a dark place, the song quickly morphed into a celebratory thing, which was surprising and cool for me. It kind of felt like I was enacting the song as I wrote it.” Listen to “Blood In The Cut” HERE.
Following international festival performances this summer, K.Flay returns to North America for a headlining tour support of Crush Me. The tour kicks off on October 24th in San Diego and will include Canadian dates in Toronto and Vancouver.
K.Flay, born Kristine Flaherty, has released four mix tapes and three EPs, followed by her 2014 debut album Life As A Dog. “Blood In The Cut” is her first single since releasing the stand alone track “FML” in March.
K.Flay’s Canadian Tour Dates: 10/29 – Vancouver, BC – The Biltmore Cabaret 11/15 – Toronto, ON – Adelaide Hall
