LIL WAYNE ADDS MIGOS, YO GOTTI, MYSTIKAL + MORE TO LIL’WEEZYANA FESTIVAL

Four time GRAMMY award-winning hip hop icon Lil Wayne is set to bring the second annual Lil’ Weezyana Festival to his hometown of New Orleans, LA in partnership with New Orleans’ radio station Q93 & Morris Bart, Esq., on Saturday, August 27th. The one-evening event hosted by Karen Civil and Q93 will include a special performance from ColleGrove – the massive collaborative project between Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz, Yo Gotti, Mystikal, Migos and more. The now annual festival began last year, and featured Lil Wayne reuniting with The Hoy Boys, a special appearance by Drake, and more. The festival will return again to the Bold Sphere Music at Champions Square at the Mercedes Benz Superdome. It will also be streamed for fans around the world exclusively on the TIDAL X platform. The headlining duo, ColleGrove, released its critical acclaimed self-titled album earlier this year. The album can be streamed in its entirety here. Lil Wayne had previously teamed up with 2 Chainz for multiple collaborations during their careers including the RIAA certified platinum tracks “Rich As Fuck” and Juciy J’sBandz a Maker Her Dance.” Lil Wayne is excited to have another opportunity to bring his live performance back to his native city of New Orleans, and give his hometown fans a rare opportunity to see him live. This year’s event is set to be another incredible festival in celebration of New Orleans.

Last year’s sold out event was an electrifying show where Lil Wayne performed hits across his iconic discography, including signature songs like “A Milli,” “6 Foot 7 Foot,” “Lollipop,” and many more. Lil Wayne also brought out many surprise guests, including the highly anticipated reunion of the Hot Boys, August Alsina, Big Freedia, Ms. Tee, Master P, Mack Maine, Curren$y and more! The evening built up to a surprise appearance by GRAMMY Award-winning Young Money artist, Drake. Wayne & Drake performed major hits including “HYFR” and “Truffle Butter” and other tracks from Drake’s own catalog.

Having sold millions of albums worldwide and garnered four GRAMMY awards, Lil Wayne is one of the most successful and critically lauded artists in Hip Hop. He released his first project at the age of 12 and went on to release his first solo album in 1999 when he was just 17. He released his first installment of his legendary Tha Carter series in 2004 before releasing three others, including the landmark Tha Carter III in 2008. Lil Wayne also holds the record for the most entries on the Billboard Hot 100 chart by a male solo artist with 109 entries, having surpassed the record previously set by Elvis Presley. His most recent studio album, I Am Not A Human Being II, was released in 2013 and debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 Charts. Last year, Wayne released FWA (Free Weezy Album) exclusively on Tidal, where it was streamed a staggering ten million times within the first seven days alone. Outside of his iconic music career, Lil Wayne has continued on as the CEO of his own Young Money Records, as well as successful apparel brand Trukfit. He also recently launched his own app, Lil Wayne: SQVAD UP, and is set to release his memoir Gone Till November on October 11th, 2016.
