Canadian Music Week Announces 2017 ‘CMW Launch Pad’ – A Competition for Canadian Start Ups

Canadian Music Week welcomes back the “CMW Launch Pad”, a pitching competition for Canadian startups. The 2017 edition will take place during this year’s conference on Wednesday April 19 at the Sheraton Centre Hotel. “Last year’s event was a huge success, and we were thrilled to have awarded the $10,000 prize to Kam Lal from Notetracks. Canadian Music week is committed to providing a platform for small businesses to achieve greater exposure and investment opportunities, and the launch pad competition allows startups the chance to get expert advice from industry professionals”, states Danya Dixon VP of Programming.

This year’s event will once again be hosted by Darryl Ballantyne, CEO, Lyricfind and will feature a panel of top industry professionals. The 2017 winner’s prize, will include a cash award, a one-hour meeting with each judge and a 15 minute presentation to the industry during the Global Creators Summit on Day 3 of the conference.

To participate, startups must be based in Canada. Applications will be accepted electronically by March 6, 2017, with selected startups announced shortly after. Startups must be in their beginning phase of development. For additional information, click here.
