Since they first started releasing music on Swedish indie label Strangers Candy in 2013, Grapell has been hailed as one of the most exciting new Swedish acts to emerge on the scene. Click Here To Listen To “Some Places”
Their second EP, titled ‘Friends’, was released autumn 2014, complete with a full live band backing up the duo. The new instrumentation and bigger sound that a live band brings helped shift their sound, making it head in a more organic direction. A year later they released their brilliant single “Arrow” resulting in Grapell signing with LA based label Roll Call Records.
The upcoming Love Chamber EP is a collection of soulful love ballads – produced and recorded by the band in their rehearsal space located in a laundry basement in Stockholm. To Grapell, a love chamber is the most beautiful place, but at the same time something that you can get easily trapped in.
Emil Erstrand’s distinctively sensual vocals together with Nils Nygårdhs reclined drumming set the foundation for what Grapell is on the EP, backed up by guest appearances by Many Voices Speak, jazz saxophonist Björn Arkö among others.
“Love Chamber” EP, including “Arrow” and the lead single “Some Places” will be released digitally and on limited vinyl on Strangers Candy in Europe and on Roll Call Records in the rest of the world. Grapell are set to tour Europe late 2016 and early 2017.
Love Chamber is out September 30th on Roll Call Records.
