Atmospheric alternative rock group State to State have just released a video for the track “Arms” over at Impose Magazine. Hot off a busy 2016 thus far of regional touring and recent performances in SoCal at Eat See Hear, Surf Rodeo and The Troubadour, the band continues to support their latest EP “Motives” with the release of the 2nd single and video “Arms.”
“Arms” is a song that rings true and has a lot to tell us about the exceedingly violent and uncertain times we are living in. Guitarist Andrew Orvis explains: “As the world was growing numb to the daily news of mass shootings, bombing massacres, unnecessarily slain civilians & police, and overall violent tragedies across the globe, the lyrics to ‘Arms’ were on constant repeat in my head. I kept hearing the chorus, ‘We gotta lay down our arms instead of our lives’ after San Bernardino, Orlando, Dallas, France, Baghdad, Turkey, Bangladesh, Syria, Iraq and every other recent slaughtering of innocent lives. I needed to express my honest emotions so I created the video using vintage clips of real people and events. To me the video is about human connection and the unending cycle of violence and death in our lives from both war and weaponry.”
“Arms” is featured on the acclaimed new EP from State to State titled “Motives” which is the follow up to 2014’s full length, No Bounds. Upon its release, New Noise Magazine called “Motives” a “shining light,” and a “no bars held half-hour experience.” Fans can purchase “Motives” on iTunes here.
State to State recently performed at the Surf Rodeo festival in Ventura and Eat See Hear in Los Angeles. Fans can check out an interview and live performance of the band at Eat See Hear via LA Music Blog.
