ROMES debut ‘Tryna Be’ (SHADES Remix)

Toronto quartet ROMES have revealed a SHADES remix of their debut single ‘Tryna Be’. The remix premiered with The 405 who called it, “a slinky track that plays like a pump-up jam”

The New York DJ/producer duo SHADES take ROMES’ critically acclaimed indie-pop debut and rework it with euphoric high-rise synths and rolling breaks. ROMES explain the result; “SHADES took the sexiness of the original to another level. Respect!”

‘Tryna Be’ is the first single to be taken from ROMES’ highly celebrated debut EP Believe, which has seen the band championed by tastemakers including Q, The Guardian and Noisey amongst a wealth of further praise. The band recently released the official video, which features a bizarre and otherworldly siren traversing the streets of New York City.

With the Believe EP clocking up well over a MILLION plays on Spotify, ROMES are building a fanbase across the globe and have achieved continued high profile public praise from the likes of Hozier and Lights. It was produced and mixed by Tony Hoffer (Beck, M83) and is a beaming, wide-eyed debut, which is eclectic yet comes with an instantly familiar taste.
