Can you talk to us more about your latest single “August”?
August is a great tune, message & sound wise. It was written as a journal entry from Johnny a few years back. We recently collaborated and added Than’s clever vocal tactics and turned it into a very cool, hard rock tune.
Did any event in particular inspired you to write this song?
This tune sort of brings to life the saying that you always want what you can’t have. When you use someone else’s life at your own disposal, one day when it isn’t there anymore, you may realize what you had, but now can’t have.
Any plans to release a video for the single?
Not as of yet, but if & when we become a signed band, absolutely possible
How was the recording and writing process?
The writing process for August was very similar to all of our songs. We kickback in our jam space on the hill (Than’s house) with a few beers, and collaborate our sounds and ideas together until we have a complete song. It’s very fun!
What draw you to release a series of singles instead of an album?
Well, today, CD’s are not flying off of the shelves anymore. If someone likes a few particular songs, they can buy them on itunes rather than having to pick up the CD at a store. We find it more convenient for the listener to release our songs as they come out, individually, rather than waiting until we have a whole bunch and releasing a CD.
Would all the upcoming songs deal with deception?
No not all of them. Sometimes our songs are reflective yes, but also sometimes defiant or rebellious 🙂
Any plans to hit the road?
We hope to one day to become a signed band and go on tour absolutely, as of right now we will keep it local and network with other bands.
What else is happening next in Atlas Will Sound’s world?
We would love to get some radio play, online radio and local stations. We are planning on hitting the studio again towards the end of the fall to roll out a few more new songs!
