Following the footsteps of other great rappers in the scene like Drake and Rick Ross, SAIN is back with his new single “Dust” off his upcoming album The Chapters.
Hussain “Sain” Hashim was born in Miami, Florida in 1990, the second son of an Emirati couple, whose lineage can be traced to Yemen, Saudi Arabia and Tanzania. He and his older brother, Hassan, were raised by his parents and extended family members, moving around Dubai, Miami, Houston, Saudi Arabia, Kenya and Tanzania.
Ever since he could remember, Sain was captivated by the Hip Hop culture and, in particular, Rap music. He scribbled away lyrics on pieces of paper that he carried around with him or typed the lyrics down on a cell phone; he always had a rhyme on his mind.
If he’s not recording, he’s freestyling or listening intently to the lyrical waxings of his Rap heroes, dissecting their poetic story telling methods, syllabic patterns and clever usage of synonyms and metaphors, the corner stones of Rap music.
What makes him truly stand out from most is the fact that he can do this in English, Arabic and Swahili, able to relate to different demographics due to his various experiences.
Despite hailing from the “City of Gold”, Sain’s life was far from privileged. He attended public schools in the USA, private schools in Dubai (which are more common and affordable than private schools in Europe and USA), made a living working part time jobs as a waiter, firefighter, and cabin crew. All the while, he stayed with, and supported, his family, strengthening the family ties and his respect for family values.
After graduating high school, Sain continued with his musical endeavors, working with regional and international artists on the same grind, dealing with the finances on his own, until he caught a break and was signed to UAE based artist management team. This partnership resulted in sponsorship with brands such as Casio’s G-Shock and Ecko clothing, and sharing the stage with for Missy Elliot, Cee Lo Green, Akon and many more in front of a crowd of 50,000 at “Beats on the beach”, an event at the Abu Dhabi F1 races.
Now under new management, Sain and the team intend to go international, and make Dubai a new musical Hub.
