CHEF’SPECIAL DEBUT “AMÍGO”

Fueled By Ramen recording group Chef’Special has announced the release of a new song and companion video.  “Amígo” is available today at all DSPs and streaming services. The band is currently finishing up work on their forthcoming Fueled By Ramen debut which set to arrive in early 2017.

“Amígo” is joined by a rambunctious companion video, premiering today on the Netherlands-based band’s official YouTube channel. The clip – directed by frequent Twenty One Pilots collaborator Reel Bear Media – was filmed earlier this summer during Chef’Special’s well-received run supporting fellow Fueled By Ramen recording group Twenty One Pilots’ blockbuster “EMØTIØNAL RØADSHØW” tour, now traveling North America through a pair of sold out shows at New York City’s world famous Madison Square Garden on August 10th and 11th. Alternative Press raved of the band’s live show stating, “The Netherlands-hailing group channel the rap-reggae influences of Twenty One Pilots into their own rousing show that got the whole arena hyped,” while 303 Magazine exclaimed, “If you’re unfamiliar with the Netherland group, you’ll know of them very soon.”

Chef’Special will follow the “EMØTIØNAL RØADSHØW” tour with a pair of Pacific Northwest festival dates, slated for Saturday, August 13th at Portland, OR’s Oregon Museum Of Science & Industry and Sunday, August 14th at Redmond, WA’s Marymoor Park. The band made its US debut last spring with the “CHEF’SPECIAL” EP, available digitally and via all streaming services. “CHEF’SPECIAL” showcases the international hit single, “In Your Arms,” a 3x platinum certified smash in Chef’Special’s native Netherlands and a multi-format favorite here in the US which reached the Top 25 at Modern Rock radio outlets. Selected by Billboard as one of Tomorrow’s Hits, “…the hooky, folk-tinged track…” and its companion video have proved a YouTube phenomenon with close to 3 million individual views and counting.

Recently named 2015’s “Best Band” at Dutch Public Broadcasting’s NPO 3FM Awards, Chef’Special has fast earned a worldwide fanbase with their adventurous and inventive songwriting, equal parts hip-hop, rock, pop, funk, and reggae. The Haarlem-based quintet made an immediate splash with 2011’s debut album, “ONE FOR THE MRS.” and its NVPI (Dutch Association of Producers and Importers of Image and Sound Carriers) gold certified hit single/video, “Birds.”

Recorded in Brooklyn, 2014’s much-anticipated follow-up, “PASSING THROUGH,” arrived atop of the Dutch “Album Top 100” on its way to NVPI gold certification. In addition to the Top 40 success of “In Your Arms” – written in memory of lead vocalist Joshua Nolet’s late father – the album also highlighted the gold certified hit single, “On Shoulders.”
