GOV’T MULE Premieres Archival Album ‘The Tel-Star Sessions’ *New Tour Dates Announced

Gov’t Mule has premiered their anticipated new archival album entitled The Tel-Star Sessions via Ultimate Classic Rock. PRESS HERE to listen to the band’s very first, and never-before-released, demos which arrive just ahead of the album’s official release date on August 5, 2016 via Evil Teen Records. These newly mixed and mastered demos, recorded in June 1994 at Tel-Star Studios in Bradenton, Florida, feature the original line-up – Warren Haynes, Allen Woody and Matt Abts. Their early improvisational interplay as a power trio is front and center here just as it still is in Mule’s live shows. Part classic rock trio, part grunge, The Tel-Star Sessions highlight the alt-rock influences that were just emerging in the ’90s and Mule’s “dirty” bass guitar style that had been a marker of rock music prior to the ’80s. Little did they know that the magic created during these sessions would spark such a prolific musical journey. It is undeniably enthralling to go back in time and experience how it all began.

The album pre-order is available now on iTunes, Apple Music and Amazon. Originally intended to be the band’s debut album, these 10 songs will be available digitally and as a single CD, as well as 180-gram double-vinyl set including a limited edition version with different artwork and white vinyl.

Gov’t Mule has also just announced new dates for their annual Fall Tour. The newly added shows (October 28 through November 5) will go on sale Friday August 12. Gov’t Mule’s Smokin’ Mule Summer Tour will kick off next week in Portland, ME with special guest Blackberry Smoke and will include a show at Colorado’s famed Red Rocks Amphitheater on August 25. In September, the band will set out on a highly anticipated amphitheater tour with ZZ Top from September 9 to 20. Full tour routing is listed below, and for ticket info, please visit
