HOOPS Premiere New Song “Gemini”

Bloomington, Indiana four-piece Hoops will release their self-titled debut EP next month, and today they share its second single and EP-closer “Gemini.” This song follows Cool 2,” which cracked the Top 5 on Spotify’s Most Viral Tracks chart – both globally and within the U.S. – and earned Hoops the #1 Artist slot on Hype Machine. Stream “Gemini,” written by Kevin Krauter and Keagan Beresford from the band, HERE exclusively via Noisey.

This past year, Hoops have toured with and opened for the likes of Whitney, Twin Peaks, Porches, and more. See below to find an upcoming show near you, including headline dates and support shows with Whitney and Car Seat Headrest.

The self-titled EP – which Hoops self-recorded, produced and mixed – will be out on August 26th on Fat Possum Records. Pre-order the EP digitally HERE or pre-order a CD or vinyl (including limited edition clear vinyl) HERE.

What began as frontman Drew Auscherman’s solo ambient project, Hoops ultimately became a quartet in 2014. Named for hoop houses in the greenhouses which Auscherman used to work in high school, Hoops draw on influences from Prefab Sprout and The Clientele, and recall the idea of breezy afternoons and sticky summer nights in both name and sound. The fuzzy, summer-primed Hoops EP follows the band’s first releases, Tapes #1-3, which earned Hoops early praise from The FADER, Gorilla vs. Bear, NME, My Old Kentucky Blog, Gold Flake Paint, and more.

Hoops is: Drew Auscherman (vox, guitar), Kevin Krauter (vox, bass), Keagan Beresford (vox, keys, guitar), and James Harris (drums)
