One of pop music’s biggest breakout acts of the year, artist/DJ/producer duo The Chainsmokers has unveiled their eagerly-awaited new single “Closer,” featuring vocals from rising star Halsey and the duo’s own Drew Taggart. The lyric video for the summer-ready single, directed by Rory Kramer, is available to view now HERE. Alex and Drew originally debuted the song in a surprise performance with Halsey at Bonnaroo last month and reignited the crazed anticipation by teasing the track last week.

The release of “Closer” comes hot on the heels of the duo’s two massive smash hits this year, “Roses” ft. Rozes and “Don’t Let Me Down” ft. Daya. Earlier this year, “Roses” steadily climbed the charts all the way to #1 on the iTunes Dance chart (Top 5 overall), Top 5 at Pop radio and Top 5 in U.S. Shazam tags. “Don’t Let Me Down” ft. Daya, which was named one of Rolling Stone’s ‘30 Best Songs of 2016 So Far,’ followed, serving as Alex and Drew’s second Top 5 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 (alongside “Roses”), while also claiming the #1 spot at Pop radio for 3 weeks in a row and accumulating nearly 400 Million streams on Spotify worldwide. The official “Don’t Let Me Down” videos have racked up over 300 Million combined views to date, and the track still maintains positioning in the Top 5 on iTunes Dance chart.

Internationally, “Roses” is now certified 3x Platinum in Australia; 2x Platinum in Canada, New Zealand, Norway and Sweden; Platinum in Belgium, Brazil, Ireland and Italy; Gold in Germany, Netherlands, Poland, South Africa, Spain and Switzerland. “Don’t Let Me Down” is certified 3x Platinum in Australia; 2x Platinum in Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway and Sweden; Platinum in Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Finland, Ireland, Italy, Spain and Switzerland; Gold in Denmark, Germany, Poland and Portugal.

Following their breakout performance at Coachella this year, Alex and Drew are set to bring their high-energy live performance to festivals all over the world this summer and fall, including Electric Zoo, Austin City Limits and Electronic Daisy Carnival stateside. They have played major European and Canadian festivals this summer and will be heading to Japan in August for Summer Sonic. The Chainsmokers’ headlining European tour dates kick off in October hitting the UK, France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland. See full list of dates below.

Having performed their hits on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, The Late Late Show with James Corden, and most recently on Good Morning America (watch HERE), The Chainsmokers have proven to be a pop culture breakthrough as one of the top acts in their genre today. Accordingly, the guys just received their first ever MTV VMA nomination, securing a spot in the ‘Best Electronic Video’ category for “Don’t Let Me Down.” The guys are also nominated for ‘Choice Music Group’ at the 2016 Teen Choice Awards, airing this Sunday, July 31st.
