INTERVIEW: Experimental Pop Act Rose Villain

Hi Rose, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

All pretty good thanks. Just rollercoastering around.

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Get The Fuck Out Of My Pool”?

I’m very happy that my first track released is badass GTFOOMP. I wrote it in one hour and recorded it at night, like I do for most of my songs. After midnight is when I become the most creative and inspired. I’m a music werewolf. You have no idea what happens with a full moon.

Did any event in particular inspired you to write this song?

I wouldn’t like to give credit for my pretty song to some party guy who didn’t treat a princess right. So no, just my fervid imagination and Manhattan ‘’MEN-Huntin’’ lifestyle.

How was the film experience?

So fun, all ideas you see in my videoclips are mine. GTFOOMP was totally homemade. SIX and I just rented cameras and improvised around NYC. Then we asked for a little post production to make it look even more crazy.

How was the recording and writing process?

Very natural and easy, I’m working with the best producer who let me dare to do whatever the hell I felt like, transcending genres and commercial standards.

What was it like to work with SIXPM and how did that relationship develop?

We matched so much musically and personally that we fell in love and moved in together where we created the best music possible because it came from true love.

How much did he get to influence the album?

Our love is THE album. For each track I was trying to impress him with the best lyrics and melodies I could write and he was trying to impress me with his beats. We wanted to make each other happy and so we did.

What role does Milan plays in your music?

Milan is a very fast, fashion driven and elegant city. It is the Italian New York. Growing in such a business oriented place made my music even more ambitious.

How are you seeking to take over NYC with your music?

All the villains’ master plan is to take over the whole world, but for some reason – they always start from NYC. Well, If you make it there you make it anywhere.

Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?

The new singles are on fire. Each one completely different from the other one. Expect the unexpected.

Any tentative release date or title in mind?

I could tell you but then I’d have to kill you.

Any plans to hit the road?

Can’t wait!

What else is happening next in Rose Villain’s world?

Just E V E R Y T H I N G.
