Paper Lions Announce September 16th Release Date For New Album “Full Colour” / SUPER SHOW in PEI Announced

This year has been jam-packed for Canadian indie pop group Paper Lions.  Following highly praised shows in Charlottetown and Toronto, the onslaught of new singles/videos for “Believer”, “Call Back” and “Born To Rule”, and multiple performances at SXSW, the four-piece have just announced the release date for their hotly anticipated third album, FULL COLOUR is set for September 16th, via Fountain Pop Records.

In addition, the PEI natives will embark on a cross Canada tour this fall beginning with a hometown show in Charlottetown on September 30th. Billed as Paper Lions’ biggest show ever, the September 30th date at the PEI Convention Centre is expected to be the largest headlining show by a PEI based artist in history.

Recorded in Brooklyn with Andrew Maury (RAC, Panama Wedding), FULL COLOUR exemplifies a newly revamped, pop-infused version of Paper Lions classic sound.  The album encompasses the familiar sunny melodies, indie rock guitar riffs and storytelling of previous albums while tastefully infusing a bit of toe-tapping power pop. The band’s stylistic shift stems from their desire to create a thoroughly dazzling, unforgettable live experience.

In 2010, Paper Lions released their debut EP, Trophies, as a free download, crashing their website in the process; it received 130,000 hits and 25,000 downloads.  This bold start sparked a career that has resulted in 24 East Coast Music Association nominations and multiple Music PEI nominations (with ten wins!); their reach has been further expanded with opening slots for CAKE, Tokyo Police Club, Hollerado, Hot Hot Heat, and even the one and only Cirque du Soleil in Shanghai.

Those eager to see their favourite band live can take advantage of early bird prices beginning Wednesday, July 27 at 10 a.m. ET through until Thursday, July 28 at 10 p.m. ET.  Visit and use the promo code FullColour for deals you won’t find anywhere else.  Tickets for all shows go on sale this Friday (7/29).
