Listen to Caught a Ghost’s Haunting New Single “If You Only Knew”‏

The LA-based project conceptualized by singer/producer/songwriter/DJ Jesse Nolan – known as CAUGHT A GHOST – has released its first new music since 2014’s Human Nature. The music comes in the form of “If You Only Knew” – a haunting yet dynamic ballad about a struggling relationship featuring sampled vocal pads and trap percussion, giving the song a propulsive melancholy. Impose Magazine referred to the song as “slightly sinister.” Listen here.

Caught a Ghost takes its name from an old expression that equates music with demonic possession. Its compositions draw from the classic sounds of American Soul and 90s rap, while also incorporating contemporary production. Following the success of 2014’s Human Nature, Nolan’s songs saw success in several network television shows and films, including ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy, HBO’s Boardwalk Empire, CW’s Vampire Diaries, USA’s Suits, and several others. The track “Can’t Let Go” is also currently the theme song of Amazon’s series Bosch, which is filming its 3rd season now. Nolan will look to continue that success with his highly anticipated sophomore full-length Second Sight, due out this fall. Caught a Ghost is currently in the midst of a West Coast tour with electro-soul duo Smoke Season, which will wrap up at The Echo in Los Angeles on August 4th.

“I believe music thrives on tension,” explains Jesse Nolan. “I always try to introduce some element of the song that feels unexpected, taking textures that people are very familiar with and combining them with something new. I also believe in structure, every song needs to move forward to develop the story.”
