LOLO’s devilish luster shines on new song‏

Today singer-songwriter LOLO has premiered her latest, “The Devil’s Gone To Dinner,” over at All Things Go. With shuffling drums and gentle piano, it starts off like a downtrodden Gorillaz track, but soon LOLO’s voice erupts into an emphatic chorus that showcases her immaculate voice.

Listen here to the track that All Things Go says “makes it clear just how much passion and soul the former Broadway star has in her voice”:

The Tennessee native’s new album ‘In Loving Memory Of When I Gave A Shit’ (out 9/9) is a soulful compendium of LOLO’s eclectic tastes and unique musical background. She played Ilse in the original Broadway production of ’Spring Awakening’ and just last year she comprised the “terrific country score” (NY Times) for an acclaimed off-Broadway adaptation of Chekhov. She also contributed songs to Panic! At The Disco’s hit #1 album Death Of A Bachelor, from earlier this year.

But ‘In Loving Memory Of When I Gave A Shit’ is more concentrated than all of those endeavors: It’s outpourings from LOLO’s self-described “Hello Kitty heart,” scraped-knee pop missives of forgiveness and the lack thereof, of not wanting to get mired in your failures and savoring your successes, of leaving home and finding that it was where you belonged all along.

LOLO’s “Not Gonna Let You Walk Away” is currently climbing on Spotify’s Viral Hits playlist, listen here:
