JILL SCOTT SCORES 3RD #1 SINGLE FROM #1 ALBUM ‘WOMAN’ WITH ‘CAN”T WAIT’‏

3x Grammy® award-winning singer-songwriter Jill Scott has made yet another stride in her ever-rising career. After almost one year since the release of Scott’s fifth studio album, WOMAN, the R&B songstress’ third LP single Can’t Wait has just peaked at the #1 spot on the Mediabase Urban/AC charts. WOMAN was released on July 24, 2015 and debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart – marking the singers third number one studio-album to date. Listen to WOMAN  by Jill Scott here.

In addition to the new album, Jill Scott has officially announced her summer 2016 tour dates. The 25 city tour kicks off Friday, July 22nd in Saratoga, California and make stops through Las Vegas, Phoenix, Houston, Atlanta, New Jersey and more – including special performances in New York at The Apollo Theatre and Brooklyn at the Coney Island Amphitheatre. Jill will be performing new music from her latest album, WOMAN, along with her classic hits.

“What we’ve learned over time in building Jill’s music career, is that it’s definitely a marathon and not a sprint”, says Shawn Gee of Maverick Management and Jill’s long-time business partner. “For this album to still have songs charting number 1, a year later, it’s a testament to the level of patience and dedication of the entire team.  Juliette Jones and Mike Kelly from Atlantic worked tirelessly to help make this happen, and Jill is super excited to reconnect with her fans this summer on tour”.

WOMAN is Jill Scott’s fifth studio effort.  The thought provoking title album came coming off the heels of singles “Fools Gold” that debuted on May 11th and the critically acclaimed, “You Don’t Know.” Jill describes the sound of WOMAN as “classic Philly soul meets Country rhythm served with captivating storytelling”.
