Touche Amore Premiere “Displacement”

Artful indie post hardcore band Touché Amoré has premiered a new song “Displacement” available now at Stereogum. The band’s new album Stage Four will be released on September 16th. Fans can pre-order Stage Four at iTunes and receive “Displacement” as an instant download tomorrow, along with the previously released song “Palm Dreams”, which premiered at NPR. As explained to Stereogum, front man Jeremy Bolm says:

“The word “Displacement” in Greek is Metastasis, which is the term used when cancer has spread from one organ to another. Having ‘dis’ in the title felt like a good head nod to Discharge, Disfear, Disclose, etc. as this song has a strong D-beat presence.

Most of my lyrics are autobiographical, but this one feels more like stating facts than word play. It touches on my faith or lack thereof in the afterlife. And how for her sake I want to believe in heaven because it’s what she deserves.”

Since forming across 2007 and 2008, the Burbank, California band’s sound, with its melodic sonic assault and impassioned vocals, has grown tighter and more refined throughout their upward-moving career. Lead singer Jeremy Bolm, guitarists Nick Steinhardt and Clayton Stevens, bassist Tyler Kirby, and drummer Elliot Babin have created a trajectory for themselves through hard work and dedication. Having earned early cred, critical favor, and legions of fans by playing lengthy tours of all shapes and sizes—in every basement, youth center, and house show the band’s bigger following only grew along with their talents. And now with Stage Four, their fourth and biggest album to date, they are cementing their status as one of rock music’s most talented, relatable, and visceral acts. Stage Four was recorded in Studio City with producer Brad Wood in early 2016, and it is the follow-up to 2013’s Is Survived By
