Music, Beer, Comedy and now Running.

In the midst of a weekend that elevates the blues and beer vanguard to a new level once again, the Blisters & Brews 5K provides TELLURIDE BLUES & BREWS festival goers the opportunity to exercise before they imbibe.  The Saturday (September 17) morning race will provide runners with a safe, beautiful way to view the town via a route and start/finish area that have been planned to maximize the running experience and highlight the beauty of the heart of Telluride.  The race route climbs up the river trail giving racers the opportunity to take in the beauty of the Colorado’s tallest waterfall, Bridal Veil Falls, on the way up and a gentle decline for the way back down.  The race will end at Elks Park in downtown Telluride and will be followed by live music and free Yoga Sessions to bring the pre-Grand Tasting Zen to a maximum. The Bootdoctors Paragon Outdoors-sponsored race will raise money for the Telluride Adaptive Sports Program (TASP) in honor of TELLURIDE BLUES & BREWS festival friend Felix Snow.   More information about TASP can be found here.

The line-up for the 23rd annual TELLURIDE BLUES & BREWS FESTIVAL

features an eclectic mix of live blues, funk, indie, rock, jam band, gospel and soul performances. Joe Walsh and Jason Isbell lead the Friday bill, with Gary Clark, Jr. and Anders Osborne set to perform on Saturday, and The Mick Fleetwood Blues Band featuring Rick Vito and Vintage Trouble closing out the festival on Sunday.  Festival goers can kick off the weekend’s festivities with a few pre-fest shows in Mountain Village and downtown Telluride on Thursday.  Set for September 16-18 in the world-famous mountain town of Telluride, CO–in the heart of the Rocky Mountains–the festival site offers one of America’s most breathtaking venues with three days devoted to music, craft beer and unforgettable memories. The town is surrounded by mountains, creating a divine atmosphere nestled in the heart of Colorado where the music can resound at its most powerful.

Beyond the entertainment, the TELLURIDE BLUES & BREWS FESTIVAL elevates the blues and beer vanguard to a new level once again. The festival uncorks an equally impressive and diverse slate of 56 microbreweries boasting 170 styles of craft beer and cider. This year’s official beer sponsor Sierra Nevada Brewing Company will also be on hand with a bevy of favorites for tasting, trying, and enjoying.

A variety of ticketing options can be found at the festival’s Website.
