PHILIP GLASS’S SYMPHONY NO. 11 SET TO PREMIERE ON HIS 80TH BIRTHDAY‏

Philip Glass’s Symphony No. 11 is set to receive its world premiere at Carnegie Hall on the composer’s 80th birthday, January 31, 2017. The work will be part of an all-Glass program performed by the Bruckner Orchestra Linz, led by Music Director Dennis Russell Davies, which will also include the New York premiere of Ifé: Three Yorùbá Songs, Glass’s collaboration with Angelique Kidjo. The evening will kick off a year of events and programs in celebration of the composer’s 80th birthday—additional details to be announced separately.
