Jeff Parry Promotions Presents The Canadian Run Of The Tony Nominated Broadway Musical “A Night With Janis Joplin”‏

Coming this fall to the Canadian stage is the Tony Award nominated Broadway musical “A Night with Janis Joplin”, presented by Jeff Parry Promotions. Celebrating the life of one of rock and roll’s greatest legends and her biggest musical influences and inspirations – icons like Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Odetta, Nina Simone and Bessie Smith, “A Night with Janis Joplin” also includes some of the gravelly-voiced songstress’ most celebrated hits, including “Me and Bobby McGee”, “Piece of My Heart” and “Mercedes Benz”. Kicking off at Vancouver’s Queen Elizabeth Theatre on September 26th, the Tony nominated Broadway musical will visit eight major cities across Canada, putting on twelve shows in total.  The tour is set to wrap at the Théâtre St-Denis in Montreal on October 21st, however the tour may be expanded to include new cities and dates in the coming weeks.

Capturing the free-spirited feel and flower power vibe of the 60s, “A Night with Janis Joplin” serves to celebrate the music icon’s life and legacy, both on and off the stage, before her untimely death at the age of 27. Posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995 and given a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2005, Joplin’s story lives on, and “A Night with Janis Joplin” commemorates it all – Her heroes. Her music. Her triumph.
