Caspian, who Pitchfork dubbed “the most regal of the instrumental new rock school,” return to the road this fall in support of their most recent release, Dust and Disquiet.
Dust and Disquiet, produced by Matt Bayles (Isis, Mastodon, Minus The Bear), was released late last fall with the New York Times saying the Beverly, Mass. based band’s music features “furious, vengeful climaxes” and Noisey declaring the album “the life-affirming soundtrack you need in your life.” Caspian most recently trekked across North America in support of Underoath, who hand picked the band to join them on the tour, with Chris Dudley saying, “Caspian is just a great band. They deserve the biggest audience possible.”
Joining Caspian for the month-long outing is The Appleseed Cast, a band that has a lengthy history with Caspian, as guitar player Phillip Jamieson explains: “We actually started our band after Cal gave us a copy of their landmark record, Low Level Owl. That record changed the way we listen to and experience music and the rest for us was history. To circle back all these years later and have the opportunity to share the road with them for the first time is more than a dream come true, it feels like some kind of strange destiny. Hard to explain… Let’s just say that we have never been more excited about a single pairing in the 11 year history of Caspian, and if you make it out to one of these shows, you are going to have one of the best nights of your entire life. No hype, just real talk.”
