Up-and-coming Canadian singer, songwriter, and producer CHARSOLI will be releasing her debut single “LIT” featuring fellow singer-songwriter Chris Gold, available on SoundCloud for streaming July 12, 2016. “LIT” is the first release off CHARSOLI’s forthcoming EP.
Co-written by CHARSOLI and Chris Gold and produced by CHARSOLI, “LIT” is a laid-back, seductive expression of feeling good with someone else. With Chris Gold’s soulful power vocals and CHARSOLI’s soft and sweet tone, these two artists blend together to create a sensual vibe with infectious melodies and ethereal production.
“I think this song portrays a natural human desire – but enhanced with the green,” says CHARSOLI. “Sometimes you find yourself in circumstances where you’re kicking it with someone and you’re sharing a beautifully intimate moment. I hear so many songs about sex and drugs where lyrics are vulgar and the sound is aggressive… I wanted to paint a softer picture with ‘LIT’ that makes people crave that sensuality.”
Born and raised in Toronto, singer, songwriter, and producer CHARSOLI spent her childhood listening to an eclectic variety of music which her father, a local DJ, would play around the house. Classically trained in both piano and vocal from the age of four, CHARSOLI was able to not only develop her musical skills but gain a greater understanding of how songs are structured and put together. An alumna of Cardinal Carter Academy of the Arts, she was able to facilitate the progress of her musical identity and expression through live performances. Around the time she graduated from the University of Toronto, CHARSOLI delved into producing experimental beats, and naturally songwriting followed. This creative development has left CHARSOLI stepping outside of the current musical box, wanting to create a sound print that is an authentic embodiment of who she is and what she needs to express.
