Jinnwoo Releases Animated Video for ‘Wicked Hare’ Single (Digitally Released 15th July on GFM Records)‏

Following its premiere as Track of the Day on Q Magazine yesterday, Jinnwoo has released the animated video for new single Wicked Hare

Wicked Hare offers something different to the ‘spooked’ folk of past Jinnwoo releases.  Produced by Weikie (Her Name Is Calla), Wicked Hare feels upbeat, with Jinnwoo’s usually sparse atmospheric soundscapes filled with faster-paced acoustic guitar, drums and layered percussion. Whilst Jinnwoo’s ever distinctive vocal is complimented by the soothing backing tones of Welsh songstress Georgia Ruth.

Jinnwoo’s “confessional reel” (The Guardian Guide) is still present within Wicked Hare,  Ben Webb (aka Jinnwoo) describes the track as a “diary song.” Before going onto expand: “When you’re ill and live in the middle of nowhere, you often spend a lot of time thinking about being ill and living in the middle of nowhere. Its a song about that, mashed up with thinking about old relationships and religion.”

Wicked Hare is released as a digital single on 15th July and is taken from Jinnwoo’s long-awaited debut album Strangers Bring Me No Light, which follows on 2nd September (on CD/vinyl/digital). Both are released via Jinnwoo’s imprint GFM Records.

UPCOMING GIGS:

10th July – Old Queens Head, London
31st July – Cambridge Folk Festival
