Canada’s newest musical export Moscow Noir are gearing up to release their debut self-titled EP on July 29th. The 7-track EP is a diverse mix of styles that showcases the band’s unique blend of electronic and rock influences. The EP is available for pre-order via iTunes at: http://itunes.com/moscownoir/moscownoir and via Amazon.com at: https://amzn.com/B01HUMLF4U.
From the ethereal introduction of “Odisea (Intro)” to keyboard driven ending of “Constellations,” it is apparent that Moscow Noir is looking to create their own lane in the electronic rock space. Songs like “Fault Lines” and “Control” showcase the band’s blend of styles and tempos. The first single from the EP is the up-tempo “Stars.” A lyric video for the song has just gone live and can be seen here: https://youtu.be/FKkY3YBsX3w.
The track listing for Moscow Noir is:
1) Odisea (Intro)
2) Fault Lines
4) Night Rider
The band will be playing a hometown concert in Toronto on August 12th. The show will take place at Lee’s Palace and will be the first time the band will perform the music of the EP live.
Moscow Noir was created by frontman/guitarist Lesther Gutierrez. After he taught himself about production and recording, he began experimenting with electronic sounds. Lesther is the writer, composer, producer, singer and lead guitarist of Moscow Noir and he created all of the material for the EP before he put the band together. The EP was recorded in Lester’s home studio. Lesther is also the visual creator behind Moscow Noir artwork, branding design and animation. He used to work as a broadcast designer for Canada’s CTV where he designed show intro/animations and special effects for television shows and brands. Rounding out the lineup is his brother Sylvain Gutierrez (bass guitar/backing vocals) and friend of eleven years Steve Rice (drums). Richard Gillespie (keyboards) and Mike Formusa (guitars) are recent additions that will round out the live touring lineup.
