Eighty Ninety (brothers Abner and Harper James) write, produce, mix and perform music in a style they’ve nicknamed “808’s and telecasters“. Their songs fuse intimate storytelling, sticky melodies and minimalist pop productions built on acoustic instruments and electronic sounds. Growing up in a musical household, the brothers were exposed to everything from Delta blues to the British Invasion to new wave and electric folk. At an early age, the boys picked up some of the instruments lying around (Dad grew up playing blues harp in South Louisiana, and Mom studied banjo), and have been writing their own songs and producing music ever since. After years of working on different film and music projects, the brothers brought their skills as songwriters and producers (in both music and film), to create Eighty Ninety – resulting in a collection of songs worth leaving on repeat for hours.
