Yesterday, Losers announced their brand new album ‘How To Ruin Other People’s Futures’ (full album press release below) via Pledge Music. VIEW/SHARE THE TRAILER HERE Speaking about the new album the band said:
Hello, it’s been a while, but we’ve been very busy and hopefully after reading this you’ll understand why.
After our first successful pledge campaign with “And So We Shall Never Part” in 2014 we have decided to release a third album with Pledge once more. After touring our second album, and finding it increasingly more difficult to survive in London, an opportunity for us arose at a residential studio an hour outside of Berlin and we decided it was exactly the antidote we needed after what seemed like a very frenetic period for us in London. Over the course of 2 years, completely detached from the rest of the world we let our emotions lead us into producing some of our moodiest, angriest, and most intense music to date.
We are a band who will never make the same record over and over. That’s just not us. It doesn’t excite us. After a very eclectic, disparate second record, this time round we wanted our sound to be more concise but yet still free from any rules. We had the opportunity to record the band in full, something that was not possible in our small London studio and we jumped at this with open arms. This means that sonically the album is a lot more live sounding, and a return to our pre-Losers rock roots but still with our love of electronic sounds glueing the record together.
The record is called “How To Ruin Other People’s Futures”, which is taken from a note, left in the studio after a particularly long night. A record personally reflecting a testing time for the three of us. A record that had to be made, we had no choice in the matter, and now it is complete it feels like a huge weight has been lifted. It’s an outlet for an incredible amount of emotion and we are extremely proud of the result.
Now that the creative process is over and we have risen for air, once again we would like to release it primarily to the people who matter most; the people that have allowed us to continue our journey and write this cathartic body of work, the people that have stood by us patiently and grown with us over our time as a band. Yes, you guys.
We are in this for the long haul. We feel like our musical journey is only just beginning and thanks to your amazing support we are still here and able to write music that we feel no other bands are doing right now. We have our own path, and with you by our sides we shall forge on, so thank you again for your invaluable support.
There are many opportunities for you to get involved with this project here at pledge music. You can decide how deep you want to go. Above all, this is about getting our music out there to be heard and to do this we need you to get involved. Every single pledge helps towards getting this album made and into your ears. So if you pre-order the download or even share this link with your friends you will be directly aiding the process of the release, and in return we will make sure you receive exclusive gifts along the way, available only to you and others who pledge. For those of you who want to get more involved we have come up with a variety of other more creative packages for you to feast your eyes upon. For example, we have the original 10 demos of the songs on the album, available on a USB stick for 10 lucky pledgers. There will only ever be 10 of these USB sticks available as we want this to be uniquely special. For the more inquisitive fans out there, a great insight into where we started and where we ended up.
We’re all incredibly excited about you hearing these songs. We very much look forward to seeing as many as you as possible in the autumn when we get to play them live. Until then we shall continue to be a band and make music as it’s the only thing we know how to do.
Drop us a line if you have any questions. It’s been while since we spoke to any human beings so it’ll be great to hear from you. 😉
