Everyone knows the feeling: when you’re putting more into a relationship than your counterpart. Constantly trying to make plans only to have them fall apart and you realize that it’s never going to work out. That’s what Bryan Howell encompasses in his new song “Apologies and Promises.” The single debuting on Shout it Loud Reviews is a summer anthem reminiscent of The Beach Boys and forgetting about all of the people that have wronged you. The mix of classic vintage guitars, raspy vocals, and blunt lyrics provide the listener with a summer jam they won’t forget. The track is from his debut album, “Take the Risk” out August 5. “Sonically, this was a blast, because it seemed like everyone was on a roll with ideas for it,” explains Howell. “The Standalones, myself, my co-producer Jeff, everybody. We were constantly hashing on cool things we could try with it, like stripping down the first verse, and just enjoying the whole vibe of tracking and building the arrangement and hearing it all come together. I think you can hear the fun and energy everyone was having in the track as a result.”
With the debut of “Take the Risk” right around the corner, “Apologies and Promises” is a rock and roll song that just can’t wait to be heard.
