Electropop artist Kidaudra released the second video single from her forthcoming debut full-length Blue Human. The feel-good electropop single “Cuts” dances through a cute 80s Mod-inspired video filmed at The Beauty Bar in New York City. Watch here.
According to Kidaudra, the meaning behind “Cuts” changes on a monthly basis: “I think it can apply to many situations. It’s about giving 100% of your heart and soul to something or someone you truly love, even if you’re left all alone in the end. Never Give up!”
She goes on to say “I think “Cuts” is such a solid feel-good pop song, and the video is just the cutest ever. The first time I saw it I couldn’t stop laughing. The day we filmed in that glittery little back room of The Beauty Bar will be a cherished memory of mine forever. It was pure magic!”
Kidaudra is a singer-songwriter, producer, and visual artist based in Peekskill, NY. She was recently picked up by Drink More Records in Brooklyn, where she will be releasing her debut full-length album Blue Human on July 22nd.
Having made music under various names since 2004, Kidaudra is originally from Ohio. She moved to New York City in 2009. “Struggling alone in such a crazy city gave me fuel to write, and I don’t regret any of it,” she says.
She worked on Blue Human for 3 years writing the songs, building the beats, and singing on all of her tracks. “For a long time it felt like the most important thing I would ever do, and the pressure I put on myself was excruciating. I knew what I wanted, I could hear the music in my head, but I felt light years away from achieving it.”
The result is a bright sonic combination, both nostalgic and powerfully current. Coming off of recent performances at Strange Adventures Festival and Northside Festival, Kidaudra will be performing songs from her new album during a full lineup of summer tour dates.
