As the USA approaches her 240th birthday, The U.S. Americans actualize the notion that our best future prospects are brought by revamping so many sounds, aesthetics, and philosophies that have been discarded pre and post the psychedelic revolution. There is no better timing to debut ‘Playtime’ and B-side ‘Movies’ which are the first singles to ever be officially released by Lady Liberty’s favorite rock band, The U.S. Americans.
The U.S. Americans are fronted by the unique vocalist with a one-of- a-kind style Jeff Weiss, Roy Abraham is at the helm with guitar and soundscape vision, the throbbing undercurrent provided by Daniel Deychakiwsky on bass guitar and drummer Emerson Williams fuses jazz, hip-hop, swing, and all the rock and f-ing roll you can handle.
Jeff and Roy, both multi-facetedmulticultural mutts who grew up in immigrant homes in Forest Hills, appreciate the unique opportunities we take for granted by living in the center of the universe here in NYC. Jeff and Roy have been high school friends since the 90s, but only formed TUSA in 2014. Jeff was then already playing with a different group and needed a more steady and stable bassist. He asked Roy, a natural born guitarist, to jump in. Shortly thereafter, the position of lead guitar and the group was revamped as The U.S. Americans.
“Playtime wasactually born when Roy was the bass player,he brought in that bass line and i was playing much more guitar back then and threw inthe bum bum bum guitar chords that kind of make the song happen”. The U.S. Americans are influenced by many artists throughout decades of rock, Grateful Dead, Ex Hex, Mudhoney, Phish and The Ramones among them to name a few. Their sound is fresh and exciting and will make you want to rock out this entire summer!
