Wolfie’s Just Fine (Jon Lajoie) Premieres Video for “A New Beginning” + Debut Album Out Now‏

Indie-rock band Wolfie’s Just Fine premiere the music video for their track “A New Beginning” today, PRESS HERE to watch.  The video, co-directed by Jon Lajoie and Brandon Dermer [Kill The Noise, Wavves, Major Lazer], was inspired by the experience of Lajoie watching his first horror movie as a young boy along with the fears and nightmares it unleashed.  The track is off the band’s debut album I Remembered but Then I Forgot out now.  To purchase the album on iTunes, PRESS HERE.

When discussing the meaning behind the track, Lajoie says, “It’s the true story of my experience watching my first horror movie as a kid.  I may just be projecting this onto my child self, but it feels like this was the moment when I had the profound realization that there was a dark, mysterious, and dangerous world beyond the sheltered, safe one that my parents had raised me in.  It was my (slightly traumatic) loss of innocence.”

Lajoie adds, “By a random set of coincidences, we ended up location scouting on an actual Friday the 13th, in the very park that the original scene were are referencing (from Friday the 13th Part 5: A New Beginning) was shot.  Needless to say, we decided we had to shoot there.”

I Remembered but Then I Forgot features ten original songs whose inspirations range from the perils of young love to the strange ways in which B-movies and summer blockbusters can leave an imprint on our lives.  The album is a collage of memories – many inspired by Lajoie’s experiences growing up with eight brothers and sisters – exploring not only the fickle nature of recollection, but also how our memories evolve over time.

Lajoie is a Canadian comedian, actor and musician best known for his role as Taco in the FXX series The League, as well as his YouTube persona “Everyday Normal Guy.”  Wolfie’s Just Fine is the first endeavor to showcase his music independent of comedy.
