Summer Rocks on AXS TV with a Beach Boys Marathon Sunday, July 3‏

AXS TV puts the spotlight on groundbreaking surf rock icons The Beach Boys with a summertime music marathon on Sunday, July 3, starting at 10aE/7aP. The day-long event is loaded with some of the California quintet’s most recognized tunes, in a lineup that includes two classic concert films and a revealing biopic. The marathon kicks off at 10aE/7aP, with the 2012 documentary THE BEACH BOYS 50 – DOIN’ IT AGAIN, following the band as they record their first album of new material in 20 years, embark on an emotional 50th anniversary reunion tour, and reflect on their extraordinary career.

Next, at 11aE/8aP, experience the highs and lows of the band’s road to rock superstardom in the critically acclaimed 2000 miniseries THE BEACH BOYS: AN AMERICAN FAMILY, which takes a personal look at the relationship between founding members Brian, Carl, and Dennis Wilson and their father, and recreates some of the most important moments in the Beach Boys’ legacy, including Brian Wilson’s battle with mental illness, the legendary SMILE sessions, and Wilson’s collaboration with Charles Manson. The film stars Kevin Dunn, Emmanuelle Vaugier, Fred Weller, Nick Stabile, Ryan Northcott, Matt Letscher, and Ned Vaughn.

Then, re-live the magic of the Beach Boys’ 50th anniversary tour with THE BEACH BOYS 50 – LIVE IN CONCERT at 2:10pE/11aP, as the rock n’ roll heroes take the stage in Phoenix, Arizona, to play 21 of their greatest hits including “Good Vibrations,” “California Girls,” and “Fun Fun Fun,” and more.
