INTERVIEW: R&B/Pop Artist SHENNA

Hi Shenna, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

I have been great! Thanks so much for having me I’m so excited to interview with VENTS!

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “So Low”?

Yes! “So-Low” is my second single off my unreleased project titled “Made Of Gold” This song is about a journey to escaping people or things holding you back in life and that sometimes it’s best to just go on your own for awhile to achieve your goals.

Did any event in particular inspired you to write this song?

This song is honestly a series of events I have encountered on my musical journey. It is hard finding the right people o trust and who have your best interest at heart in an industry of so much competition.

Can you tell us more about the upcoming video?

I’m working with this production company called “Moon Culure” and all I can say is that this visual is going to be one of the most creative videos I have filmed yet due to the directors understanding the meaning behind my song so I am extremly excited!

The single comes off your new album Made of Gold – what’s the story behind the title?

The story behind he title “Made Of Gold” is that every single person is valuable despite the hardships and struggles of life we all have something to contribute in this lifetime.

How was the recording and writing process?

The recording and writing process was very fast per song! We literally created an instrumental in one day and wrote/recorded the next day. The thing that took the longest was the fact that I kept adding songs to the project so it went from being an EP to a full length album overtime!

What was it like to work with Austin Bello and how did that relationship develop?

Austin is very passionate about reating music and super honest about what we are working on. He has definitly been a mentor to me as well as a friend throughout the process of working on my first EP “Dream In Color” and all throughout the process of my upcoming album!

How much did he get to influence the album?

Austin has worked with me since I stated releasing my own orginal music so he has played such a huge role in helping me create and shape my sound. He is the producer of the entire upcoming project so he definitly helped me come up with some cool themes!

Does NYC plays a role in your music?

NYC plays a huge role in my music when it comes to live shows because my band members are all NYC music majors. NYC is such a creative city that it challenges me to be a better musician everyday due to all the talent!

Is this a coming-of-age type of recording?

I believe that this record is a coming-of-age type of recording because I have truly found my sound as an artist and love playing with my voice tone.

What aspects of your life get to inspire the music on this material?

The music on my upcming project is all about my life experiences and things I winess on a daily basis. Some of the songs are fun and silly and others are emotional and talk about my journey in the music industry. I feel that music is my outlet to truly let people know who I am.

Any plans to hit the road?

Yes! My and I are currently prepairing for Canada and organizning a mini tour once the project releases!

What else is happening next in SHENNA’s world?

I have a few big things coming up but I’m honestly just excited to share all my new music and visuals with you all! Nohing makes me more happy than to know people are listening to my music all around the world!
