London-based sister act Bloom Twins, have unveiled the artistic video for their new single ‘Amnesia’. Shot in black and white, the video sees the girls performing to camera in a variety of striking outfits, delicately immersing themselves in abstract body paint as it runs across their bodies. Interspersed with reverse and slow motion shots, it’s a video that both captivates the eye and captures the imagination.
The track, to be taken from their forthcoming debut album due out later this year, is a perfect example of the girls’ “dark pop”, and serves up haunting dual vocals set against an electro backbone.
The track was produced by one of London’s best-kept secrets, Anthony Marshall. The UK songwriter, musician and producer has written with some of some of the biggest and brightest stars who have shaped today’s musical landscape. Boasting an impressive CV, he’s worked with the likes of Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Pet Shop Boys and Craig David, to name a few.
Following the release in early 2014 of a politically-charged cover version of the classic Bob Marley track ‘Get Up, Stand Up’, in sympathy with the national uprising in Ukraine, the girls were featured on BBC’s Newsnight with Jeremy Paxman, and graced the pages of the UK’s national broadsheet newspapers.
Last year they played several headline shows around London and made an appearance in UNICEF’s Imagine campaign alongside Katy Perry and Will.i.am. They finished the year as the opening act for Duran Duran on their Paper Gods UK arena tour, which included a stunning performance at The O2 in London.
Duran Duran’s Nick Rhodes was so impressed by the twins that he has recorded and produced the majority of their forthcoming debut album.
Ahead of that album release, ‘Amnesia’, shows that Bloom Twins have fulfilled their early promise and are set to be one of the most exciting new artists on the pop scene.
