Hi guys, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

We’re great! Been crazy busy, but as a band that’s the best thing you can ask for! And we’re ecstatic to be here!

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Burn The World”?

“Burn The World” is the heavy song on the record. We love to be a balance of pop punk but also have some bangers that people can mosh to. Burn The World turned into that song. It was written as a group effort with most of the lyrics provided by our bassist Mike Alosa.

Did any event in particular inspired you to write this song?

We like to think the song and circumstances can be applied to any situation. However the songs origin comes from realizing someone you’ve been in love with for a long time is over you and moved on, and learning to accept that and find your own happiness.

Can you tell us more about the upcoming video?

The video was shot at Studio One here in Orlando by MegaByte Films. It was a blast! The room in the video was actually a set built from scratch in 6 hours the night before by our director Joe DeSantis. We had a blast destroying it and getting to smash some instruments! Our guitarist Andrew actually busted up his hand pretty bad filming smashing a guitar into a drum set, but it was all worth it!

The single comes off your new album Brace Yourself – what’s the story behind the title?

Brace Yourself! Itself is about perseverance. 2015 was a whirlwind year for the band. Filled with so much positivity and so much adversity. We did so much as a band from recording, touring, playing huge shows. At the same time we played our fair share of shows with 4 people in the crowd, we had band members quit, band members be kicked out, we suffered break ups, missed life events, and through all that had to find a way to persevere. We wrote those songs over the course of that year with different members, different places, and different mindsets… We’ve always promised each other that we will outwork any band you put in front of us and the motto has always been “brace yourself”. Brace yourself for what’s to come and for the ups and downs.

How was the recording and writing process?

The songs had been written over the course of 2015, some of them we had been playing live for a year, however by the time they were recorded the had changed completely, and for the better. The recording process was insane we recorded for 10 hours a day, every day, for a week. We pretty much lived at The Wade Studio.

What was it like to work with Andrew Wade and how did that relationship develop?

Recording with Andrew Wade was one of the most fulfilling musical experiences of our lives. He’s such a down to earth dude you forget that he has Gold records. Homesick by A Day To Remember is one of the bands favorite records of all time, and to be able to work with the guy who produced and help write it, was a dream come true to say the least. We can’t wait to work with him again on our next project.

How much did he get to influence the album?

Andrew is the type of producer that takes great pride in himself and his work. He tells you right when you get started that if he doesn’t think it sounds good, it’s not going on the record. He has a clear vision and wants to get the most out of you as a performance and wants what he feels is the best finished product possible. We trusted him with our songs and we couldn’t have been happier with the outcome. At times he made us look at eachother and say “Why didn’t we think of that!?”

What aspects of acceptance get to inspire the lyrics on this record?

The record is a balance of stories and experiences from all the members. Its about what we’ve been through whether its been relationships, losing loved ones, and all the aspects in life that make you are at that very moment. Accepting that sometimes we need the bad things, the terrible things, and the sad things in life so we can truly appreciate the great things. We feel Brace Yourself! Is a perfect representation of who we were in 2015 when we wrote it.

Any plans to hit the road?

Absolutely! We’re actually finishing the last dates of our tour, which will be announced in the next week or so. We’re hitting the east coast from July into August so hopefully we’ll see some of your readers out there!

What else is happening next in Felicity’s world?

Other than our summer tour we were actually chosen as one of the bands chosen to perform at Vans Warped Tour 2016. We’re playing July 2nd at the Orlando, FL date. It’s a dream come true being recognized and chosen when 11,000 bands entered and only 40 got picked. Not to mention being able to share the stage with some of our favorite bands ever! After we get back from summer tour we are looking to hit the studio again and get some more music out there for you guys! Thanks again for the opportunity! – FELICITY
