Route 94 is back with his first original material in almost 2 years. Ahead of his gig at fabric on the 11th June, the producer is releasing a 3-track EP that will be available to download for free from the tastemaking London club’s website. Listen and download here
‘A Brand New Day’, ‘Caramel’ and ‘Take Off’ are each understated, late-night groovers, with the former two featuring seductive vocal samples and the latter featuring a quirky combination of off-key piano chords over skipping hi-hats. These productions are no doubt informed by the amount of time he’s spent touring some of the most respected clubs, festivals and residencies in the world.
It’s just a taste of big things to come for Rowan Jones, who has been busy working hard in the studio and now has a series of new tracks in the pipeline. He might be most well-known for his 2014 hit ‘My Love’, but Route has always been an underground DJ and producer first and foremost; his ‘Misunderstood’ EP on Leftroom was also a highlight of the same year. He’s now looking forward to a busy summer season; after his gig at fabric on the 11th June, Rowan’s tour schedule takes in the ANTS, Paradise and Warriors parties in Ibiza, Strafwerk and Verknipt festivals in Amsterdam, and Creamfields and South West Four in the UK.
