Mumford & Sons today announce The Austin 5000 Tour, a final eight date run of North America later this year.
The tour, so called because the run of dates takes Mumford & Sons on a five-thousand mile drive around their twin Austin City Limits headline performances, kicks off at the Life Is Beautiful Festival in Las Vegas in late September, and concludes with their second headline show at Austin City Limits in Austin, Texas between 7- 9th October.
The tour caps a very fine twelve months for the British band, who follow the global success of their third album Wilder Mind in 2015 with the forthcoming June release of a brand new mini-album, Johannesburg. Recorded during a 48-hour studio session out on the band’s historic sold-out debut tour of South Africa at the beginning of the year, Johannesburg is in collaboration with Senegalese vocalist Baaba Maal, Malaawi duo The Very Best, and Cape Town’s own Beatenberg.
