LOCAL ORGANIZATION RAISING AWARENESS ON SEX-TRAFFICKING THROUGH CLOTHING EVENT

The Clothing Collective would like Minnesota locals to come together for our event to support Wipe Every Tear, an organization providing hope for young women living in the Philippines that are involved in the sex trade. Our goal is to raise $50,000 to fund two safe houses in the Philippines. Enjoy a night of live music and refreshments as we help raise awareness and money to reach our goal.

The Clothing Collective came together in early April to do something regarding the issue of sex-trafficking occurring in the Philippines. We combined forces with Wipe Every Tear to offer hope of freedom and a future for the young women affected by this terrible epidemic.

The dedicated staff and volunteers of Wipe Every Tear seek out miserable bars, masquerading as joy filled places, in hope to provide women with resources for a better future and a helping hand to leave their current circumstances. Through genuine relationships and the building of trust, they help facilitate their transition from the sex trade to a new life of freedom. Safe Homes are an integral part of Wipe Every Tear’s mission and providing an education is essential to their mission.

The Clothing Collective has been collecting gently used clothing throughout the month of May, to create a sustainable way of giving back. During the event, guests will be able to bid on donated clothing, as well as pieces from local boutiques. All proceeds will go directly to the non-profit, Wipe Every Tear.
