Following our premiere series, we are coming back to the Western Hemisphere where we find our next act, Martha and the Muffins and VENTS Magazine team up for the premiere of their new oddly awesome remix of their single “Do You Ever Wonder?” by TSWSY.
Producer/remixer Matthew Fudge revealed, “Lyrically, we loved how this song paints the picture of wide eyed innocence and a playful creativity. We wanted to take those ideas to the max and play up that contrast with creative sound design wrapped around a catchy pop chorus.”
Chloe K-Jones, whose featured on this track, is a vocalist/songwriter from the UK who is now based in Toronto, Canada. She collaborates with producers worldwide and will be releasing a solo EP under the name Kookoo in 2016.
Described by UK critics as “one of the most innovative of their era”, Martha and the Muffins emerged from the early Toronto punk/new wave/art pop scene in 1977 which was centered around various clubs along Toronto’s Queen Street West and the Ontario College of Art. They were the first Canadian band to sign to a UK label and toured extensively in Britain, Europe and North America. Echo Beach became a top ten single around the world in 1980 and earned them a Juno for Single of the Year. Since then, the band has released seven studio albums, three of which they co-produced with Daniel Lanois (Peter Gabriel/Bob Dylan).
