INTERVIEW: Borderlands

Hi guys, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

Hello! We’re fine, thanks.

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Children of The Sun”?

Our latest single talks about the loss of someone close, how you run run from it but will eventually have to face the reality and overcome it.

Did any event in particular inspired you to write this song?

Unfortunately, yes. Yuri’s (Guitar) father passed away.

Can you tell us more about the upcoming video?

The video is someone who faces a problem and runs from it. Eventually comes back, faces it and overcomes it. It’s a simple story but people tend to confuse it!

The single comes off your new album Voice of The Voiceless – what’s the story behind the title?

It’s nothing more than a lesson, we wrote about events of our lives and about the world. Unfortunately, there are still people who can’t speak freely.

How was the recording and writing process?

Pretty simple to be honest. We grouped and started writing it non stop 24/7.

Recorded everything at home, except for the vocals, which were recorded in a friend’s studio.

What was it like to work with Nicolas Delestrade and how did that relationship develop?

Pretty simple and chill dude, we loved to work with him.

How much did he get to influence the album?

A LOT. The album is sounding massive, thanks to him.

What role does Portugal plays in your music?

Portugal has seen better days in our scene, people here are still too close-minded about our music. Fortunately, It’s evolving, but very slow…

How would this record showcase a more matured side of the band?

You just have to hear our EP, and then our album, and you’ll realize the difference. The album speaks for itself.

Where did you find the inspiration for the songs and lyrics?

Events of our lifes, events around the world.

Any plans to hit the road?

We want to hit Europe soon.

What else is happening next in Borderlands’ world?

Maybe a tour or two? And writing another work of course! We never stop.
