There’s a lot to be said for taking charge of your life but still remaining open-minded to growth. Connecticut-born indie singer-songwriter, Charlotte Berg, switched her career goals from medicine to music at age 20 and never looked back. She is now pleased to announce the official release of her debut album, It’s the Damsel Who Decides. She is currently releasing her first single, “Just For Now,” as a glimpse of what’s to come from her 10-track album set to be out August 12, 2016. Having gained fans in both Australia and the US, Berg hits the road again this summer, touring the UK and Sweden in support of her new album.
After studying classical piano from age 8 to 18, Berg traded Mozart for Missy Higgins (chart-topping Aussie singer-songwriter), whom she discovered during college, and soon began writing her own songs. She experienced a stressful sophomore year and began playing music several hours a day as an escape. She cut her performance teeth while in school and, upon graduating, moved to Melbourne, Australia to throw herself into developing her performance chops. She teamed up with New Zealand artist Miles Fahey and together they garnered a substantial following as the duo Char & Miles over a three year period. Hoping to further her career, Berg relocated to the songwriting capital, Nashville, TN, where she currently resides. Shortly after her move, she formed her own band and began playing the Nashville music circuit, amassing a large following in Tennessee and along the east coast with two Northeast tours.
Today, Berg aims for wider audiences. This time in Europe with her upcoming Let It Burn Tour in the UK and Sweden. Be sure to check out Charlotte Berg’s new single “Just for Now,” the first off her debut album, It’s the Damsel Who Decides – out August 12th!
