INTERVIEW: Hammerjack

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “I Can’t Change”? Did any event in particular inspired you to write this song?
The song is almost a hand written letter to my girl explaining why I am who I am and how I can’t change the way I am no matter what.

Any plans to release a video for the song?
There is a video out now for ‘I Can’t Change’ on YouTube –

The single comes off your new self-titled EP – why naming the album after the band’s name instead of some other creative title?
We decided as it was an EP rather than an album we just wanted people to judge us on the music rather than a fancy name and artwork. Plus it is a continuation from our debut EP.

How was the recording and writing process?
The writing for the songs was a long one mainly because we wanted to make sure we poured every bit of ourselves into each song both lyrically and musically. And recording them was the same.  We took our time to make sure we captured the raw passion and energy which we create together when playing them.

What role does Classic Rock music play in your music?
Classic Rock plays a vital role in that we are all inspired by the great bands like Ac/dc, led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, guns n roses through to more recent bands that also have that classic rock vibe like The Answer for example.

Where did you find the inspiration for the songs and lyrics?
For the lyrics in the songs I feel it’s important for me to write how I feel in a brutally honest way whether that be from personal perspective or from the outside looking in. I really poured out my heart on those songs.

Any plans to hit the road?
We are always itching to get back on the road to play rock n roll! We have a list of shows up on our website which gets bigger by the day!

What else is happening next in Hammerjack’s world?
Next up for HammerJacK is to release our new EP on July 22nd and play to as many people as possible! We love being on the road and music is a way of life for us so bring it on! !
