PREMIERE: Hazels Release New Music Video For “The Cure”

All the way from Newcastle, VENTS has team up with Hazels for the premiere of their new music video for “The Cure”, a journal of the band’s daily life as they try to make into the tough music industry with a song reminiscent of the legendary Alternative band fronted by Robert Smith.

Formed in late 2013 when five friends began jamming in an abandoned greenhouse, Hazels have come a long way in a short period of time – and not without good reason.

Having established themselves as one of the North East’s most exciting new bands of 2014, the band self-released their debut single ’This Ain’t A Game’ which earned further plays on BBC Newcastle, Spark FM as well as national airplay on Amazing Radio. Second single ‘In Control’ came in 2015 and gained airplay across USA after winning the Amazing Radio contest ‘Audition’, as well as this the track was added to the Amazing Radio playlist with Charlie Ashcroft claiming “Hazels are providing some strong evidence that they may be the next indie rock heroes to break out from their native North East onto a wider platform.” The guys managed to gain a lot of regional exposure, typified by a headline date with Club Fandango & Music Week’s event ‘Rising’. They have since played show after show around the North East’s best small venues, supporting the likes of Blossoms, Glass Caves, The Sherlocks and The Ordinary Boys to name a few, and performed at festivals such as Evolution Emerging and Gigiti Origins. Most recently they opened at the O2 Academy Newcastle’s 10 Year-Anniversary. A high-energy performance is distinctive for these guys.

Following the release of In Control the band collectively pursued a darker sound coming from a wider range of influences. It was from this that the new single was written whilst still containing all their musical trademarks.

They are now set to unleash their new video for The Cure online.
