Hi guys, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

We have been good! Very busy! But good.

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Laser Lips”?

Yeah we would love to! This song was born out of our guitarist Rob’s vivid imagination, the song is fun, tongue in cheek and really upbeat. We want more like that in our future releases and our live sets.

Any plans to release a video for the single?

We are hoping to get a video done! We have some plans, watch this space.

Why name the record after this track in particular?

We believe that Laser Lips is going to be a huge song for us, and we love the track, so we wanted to give it the best chance of getting heard. It’s the best example of what we do as a band, so we felt it reflected the album really well.

How was the recording and writing process?

We love the studio, it’s a fantastic experience to develop a song and make it the best it could possibly be. We all wrote different songs and certain aspects of other songs on the LP, and it’s a really collaborative process for us all as a group of musicians.

What was it like to work with Ed Heaton and how did that relationship develop?

We have known Ed for 3 years and consider him a friend and confidant. Ed is a real star, his vision and attention to detail are what made this album so strong, working with him is a genuine pleasure.

How much did he get to influence the album?

Quite a lot in fairness, we embrace his options and his creative talent and it feels like he had a real input on this record.

Did you intentionally go with the idea of making a strongly influenced 90s record from the beginning or did it happen naturally?

I think we have a big 90s influence and I think that is a very organic part of the band and our sound. Bands like Oasis, Stereophonics, The Stone Roses are all cornerstones of our musical tastes as individuals and we love writing massive-sounding songs like they did.

Any plans to hit the road?

We have some big gigs coming up, dates in London, Leeds, Bradford, Manchester and Birmingham. It will be a great opportunity to hear our music live, and we would encourage people to follow us on social media to stay up to date with our gig dates

What else is happening next in The Brazen’s world?

We will be working on new material. We have songs ready to look at as a band, so we want to get some more songs ready for audiences ASAP! And perhaps start thinking about Album 2.
