So is time flying or what?! Well, folks, it’s a new month and we are kicking it off with some upbeat and fun music all the way from sunny Californina by the hand of Zach Alwin who teams up with VENTS for the premiere of his single “Burnin Up” off his self-titled EP and that brings back the cool 70s disco vibe to modern times.
After four years of classical training at the prestigious Bob Cole Conservatory of Music in Long Beach, Southern California native Zach Alwin decided to throw it all out the window and make his own brand of witty, party-ready jams and earnest, soulful love songs. The first step was to bunker down at home, write fifty songs over a period of two months, and keep his head down until he felt he had something to say.
In 2014, his debut single, “Arrived”, was released to critical acclaim and first place in the Indie International Song Writing Contest. Shortly after, he began working with producer Gene Shiveley (Rolling Stones, Weezer, etc.), who quickly uncovered his innate groove stemming from the R&B he was raised on. After 2 years of development and musical collaborations with Jim Keltner (Bob Dylan, Aretha Franklin), Pee Wee Hill (Sly Stone), Fred Tacket (Little Feat), Jack Kelly (Donna Summer), and Dave Pensado (Beyoncé), he is back with his new single, “Burnin’ Up”.
